Must Have Monday

Hey y’all, thanks for checking in on my blog for this installment of Must have Monday. Today I definitely have our tv room on the brain. I’m going for a super kid friendly beach cottage look and while I have my main pieces locked on, accessorizing is ALWAYS the hardest part of pulling a room together for me. I’m narrowing down my search and I want to share with you what I’m thinking!

I’m loving this coffee table from world market, and my mom actually has the same one which she found at her local Goodwill- so I have to say I’m a LITTLE jealous.

Vintage French Grain-Sack Linen Pillow Covers

Loving these french grain sack pillows from Restoration Hardware.

I’m loving both of these throws!

That’s all I have for you this Monday! Thank you for joining in and checking out my must haves!

Must Have Monday,

It’s must have Monday, and I’m so happy to be here with y’all sharing my picks this week! This week I got a little theme-y so track with me for a minute. You might know, or may notice if you stick around this ‘ol blog long enough that I have a flair for the preppy that can very swiftly lean over to the hollywood regency side of things, REAL FAST. One of my favorite elements to borrow from hollywood regency style is the banana leaf print. It’s awesome for summer, but I like to use it any time of year and today I want to share three great things that come in banana leaf print.

1. The banana leaf pillow

2. The banana leaf short, classy and affordable.

3. The banana leaf wallpaper.

Okay, this last one y’all, I have to talk about. It’s probably the coast in me that thinks this is to die for but I have to say…

I”M IN LOVE I’M IN LOVE AND I DON’T CARE WHO KNOWS ABOUT IT! ….Elf anyone?

Every single element in this photo I have in my home currently except that dang wallpaper and you can bet I want it! This will be in our home at some point although it may have to wait for a more southern, coastal location- for resale sake 😉

Must Have Monday

Thank you for joining me for this week’s must haves list. Today I’m talking all about tools of the trade, what I love and what I’m hoping to get.

Bostitch 0.8-HP 6-Gallon 150-PSI Electric Air Compressor

Via

I give you, the Bostitch air compressor and brad nailer. First off I LOVE this thing! It’s pretty light weight, I wouldn’t want to take it for a run or anything, but it’s pretty easy for me to move around the house so that I can complete tasks. I’ve used this puppy to put up crown moulding, build shelving, and just about anything in between. I love this machine. It runs about $199 at Lowes, I was able to purchase mine on sale for $150, however I bought the floor model so they marked it down to $110. I then was able to use my military discount, in all I was able to save over half the price.

Wagner Control Spray Double Duty High-Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) Handheld Paint Sprayer

Via

Next I have for you the Wagner Control Spray Double Duty High Volume Low Pressure Handheld Sprayer. I have never use one of these sprayers but I’ve done a ton of research looking for an affordable, quality paint sprayer and this one is on my list. This will be my next tool purchase. I’m trying to imagine what painting furniture will be like with a sprayer, but it just seems too good to be true! I’ve watched youtube videos and read reviews and this model gets rave reviews.

I hope this little bit of toolbox information has been helpful to you today! I know I couldn’t have done half of my projects without my air compressor/nailer and I’m hoping I’ll love my paint sprayer just as much! What are some of your tools of the trade? What do you owe your diy success to?

Must Have Monday

It’s time once again for another round of must have Monday!

Must have Monday

I’ve been searching for the perfect dining chairs for our breakfast nook for some time now and I’ve finally landed on some that have been catching my eye for a while. This wood and rattan chair set from World Market rings in just a few dollars cheaper than their Safavieh counterparts from Wayfair.com, and I’m loving the lighter tone of distressed grey in the World Market version.

I am all about some turkish towels! These are from West Elm and currently on clearance. I’ve been finding some lately at our local Marshall’s and I try to snap them up whenever I’m there. They are super light weight and surprisingly absorbent. The bath towels have a terry cloth feel on one side and a smooth flatwoven surface on the other.

Y’ALL. I am all about the tassel necklaces. I want all the tassels. These super cute little beauties from Furbish would be excellent with any outfit, I’m tellin’ ya!

It’s that time again! The time when I share what my latest must haves are, are you ready?

This gold flatware from Anthropologie is seriously lighting up my life right now. These glamorous little gems would be the perfect addition to any place setting in my home.

It has been said that I’m a little bit pineapple obsessed. But look at these cute brass salt and pepper shakers! How could you not be? I’ve been searching high and low for the perfect shakers to add to our dining table and I’m pretty sure these will be it! They are very similar to a brass vintage pineapple box I picked up at a junk store- I LOVE that pineapple box and I think I need to bring a similar element into the kitchen.

I don’t know about you, but I’m totally a robe girl. I love love love robes and this one from Plum Pretty Sugar has been on my list for quite some time now.

Must Have Monday

1) Lindsay Letters

I feel like I’m the last person on this train as I don’t own a LL print as of yet, but I have been admiring form afar for quite a few years now. I first saw her work on Holly Mathis’ blog  in the form of this little beauty…

Must Have Monday

I was delighted to find this sweet summery little beauty that has been added to her “new collection”…

I’m not going to pretend that I wouldn’t LOOOOVE her to do a print of the whole first verse/phrase of the song in french… but maybe I’m just dreaming.

2) I’m all about gold foil prints and I’ve been loving this “Hey Y’all” print for a while now, I feel like I need this for our house seeing as how I may be the only person in Kansas who actually says y’all.

Have a lovely day!

Must Have Monday

Greetings!

I’ve been totally off the radar lately because we have been fast tracking a few renovations over the past two weeks. Now that our floors are OFFICIALLY refinished (pictures to come) I’m totally excited to jump in and begin the end of our kitchen. Our new appliances arrive this afternoon and then we will be building a pantry, vent hood cover, tiling another wall, replacing the counter tops and choosing a new island. I’ve been toying with the idea of and cart-like island and that led me to think about adding a small flat woven rug in the center of the kitchen under the island…..which completely yarn-balled my thoughts to adding more color and patterns to our kitchen because things can start looking really sterile in a which kitchen really really fast!!!

My personal “Must Have’s” this week are all based around my cutesy little kitchen and some colors I’m hoping to bring to the table…

1) Colorful flat woven rug

Loving the color blue in the kitchen! I’ve started collecting the Blue Willow china and I’ve been wanting to add some other pops of blue in the kitchen.

Loving this first rug the most…….I have a duplicate of the second by the front door.

2)  Sweet pillows for our breakfast bench.

I am a big ol’ sucker for some gold pillows! I La La La La Love them. I have a few that I scored at Marshall’s about a year ago but they are super reminiscent of the third pillows below by Caitlin Wilson.

Loving this Caitlin Wilson classic so cute, ties in the blue and my non-optional pop of pink.

If you’ve been to Tar-Jay in the past few months you’ve probably seen this little beauty hanging around. These need to be in my kitchen like NOW and for a reasonable $19.99 I may just have to get them on grocery day 😉
