Breakfast Nook and Coffee Bar

Happy Monday everyone!

Almost three years ago we bought our sweet little bungalow and ever since we have been attacking every square inch of this home with a spread formation of DIY magic. While doing a little work here and there, we have impacted every corner of our lovely little abode. Today I want to share a little bit of our DIY heaven better known as our breakfast nook and coffee bar.

Here she is the day we moved in,

And here is a beautiful little space today…

We changed our breakfast nook drastically with just a few key elements,

built-in bench

we exposed the brick chimney chase from under plaster

DIY board and batten

removed cabinets and added a tiled feature wall

So much of our life happens right around this table and in this space, we love the bright and happy corner of our home.

  1. Where did you get the butcher block, and did you stain it, or did it come that dark?

    1. Hi AC, We stained the butcher block ourselves with minwax stain in “espresso”. We bought the butcher block at IKEA.

  2. how did you paint the cabinets? I have been looking for something like that for my laundry room. if you could give me instruction I would really appreciate it. Thank you!!!
