As promised I am here this week with a big tip for bringing home baby! When we welcomed sweet little Shep I downloaded a fabulous app to help me track his feedings and diapering etc. – all that fun stuff they ask you at your little one’s dr. appointments.
If I’m honest I wasn’t great about writing down and keeping track of all that information with Grayson and Sloane. They were great eaters and had normal baby bathroom habits so I just forgot to write it all down most of the time.
This time in the hospital with Shep I was keeping track of nursing sessions and diapers in the notes section of my phone but I thought there had to be a better way. I came across Seven Logics Nursing Tracker but the app is so much more than a tracker for baby feedings!
You start out by entering in your child’s birth date & birth stats. You can enter multiple children’s info which is great for tracking height, weight & immunizations for all of your kids. Then you just start logging in the info.
There is the breast feeding timer & log which will log how long your baby nursed, what time and on which side. A breast pump timer that will track how long you pumped and how many oz you were able to pump on each side. There is the bottle feeding section which tracks how many oz your baby ate and the amount of time it took- you also have many options other than just breast milk or formula so this continues to be helpful even into the toddler years. I find these three trackers extremely helpful as our little Shep has been slow to grow and we’ve been alternating between breast feeding and bottle feeding breast milk.
The app also tracks diaper changes, sleep schedule, doctors appointments, measurements, bath time, immunization, medication, solid food and activity. It’s an app that truly grows with your child. The app has a “diary” section which compiles all the information of that day so you can see the daily feedings, diapering and other information at a glance.
You guys this has relieved so much stress for me! Especially since we have had a little bit of a rocky start with Shep’s growth. I’m also using the app to track Grayson and Sloane’s height, weight and Immunizations. This will give cues of when they need to move to the next “phases” of their carseats or when I need to make a booster shot appointment.
I can’t tell you how much peace of mind having all this information in one spot has given me, especially at Dr. appointments for Shep. I’ve just been able to show his Dr. the “diary” section of the app so she can see his daily stats.
There is a free version of the app and then a super inexpensive (1.99 I think- don’t quote me) upgrade version (just without ads). Both are great but I did opt to buy the option without ads. I hope you guys at least check out the free version of this app, it is seriously life changing when it comes to organizing your baby’s information.
