You might remember this photo from our “Before Tour”.
This is our downstairs hallway.
The room straight ahead is a bedroom, the door on the left leads to the dining room, the right, directly across from it is a bathroom. The white door on the right is a closet and the doorway I’m standing in is an entrance to a formal living room. So count them up people, that’s 5 doors! Not doorways, DOORS!
Enjoy the following embarrassing photo of our hallway.
I removed the doors to the living room and dining room first thing.
I spackeled, sanded areas where hinges had been.
I then painted all of the trim white and painted the walls a dark taupe-y color that I had left over from a project.
I replaced the generic “boob light” with this pretty chandelier I bought at Lowes.
I think the hallway is so pretty now. The darker color contrasts so well with the greige color painted throughout the surrounding rooms.
After I took that final picture I replaced the closet door knob with a knob from one of the doors I removed.
